How long does it take to get into Journey House?

The waiting period varies depending on how many people are on the waiting list. The average wait time is three to six months.

How many people live in one house?

Including the live-in facilitator, there are five people that live in one Journey House residence.

Do I get my own room?

Yes, every resident at Journey House has their own private room.

Do you have a COVID-19 policy?

Yes, Journey House has a COVID-19 policy with daily screening and procedures that follow the Ottawa Public Health guidelines.

How much does it cost?

The rent for Journey House is $700 per month. The cost for support is $175 per month. If you pitch in on groceries we can buy food in bulk. We ask that you contribute $125 per month for food. This totals $1000 per month.

Do I have chores?

Yes, it is the responsibility of the each resident to do light chores, in order to keep the household clean and functioning.

Is there a curfew?

No, there is not a curfew. We do ask that if a resident is going to be out late that they let us know where they are and when to expect them home.

Who does the laundry?

It is the responsibilty of each resident to do their own laundry. If you need help, we can teach you how.
